Area 02 · Wellbeing
Mental wellbeing is not only what happens inside a person.
Wellbeing
The problem
We treat emotional difficulty as a private malfunction. Something has gone wrong inside this person, and it is their responsibility to correct it.
But distress rarely appears from nowhere. It grows in conditions — in insecurity, in isolation, in relentless pressure, in homes where feelings are not discussed, in communities where asking for help reads as weakness, in the ordinary experience of carrying something difficult with nobody to tell.
The question “what is wrong with you?” asks a person to account for their own suffering. The question “what happened around you?” gives it a context. The second question is more accurate, and far more useful.

Layers this touches
Important
Aadyah's wellbeing work is preventive and community-based. We do not provide diagnosis, therapy or emergency medical care, and we are not a substitute for professional clinical treatment.
If you or someone you know needs immediate support, call Tele-MANAS at 14416 — free, confidential and available 24×7.
Work with us on this.
If you run a school, a community organisation or a CSR programme and want to change the conditions rather than run an event, we would like to hear from you.
